The workshop is intended for Doctoral students in the health and social sciences who are at the stage of developing a research proposal.Participants will gain skills in the design of conceptually cogent and methodologically rigorous dissertation proposals.We know that writing your dissertation can be lonely and isolating.
We offer individual coaching dissertation workshops that give you one-on-one access to an experienced dissertation coach, including weekly meetings and comprehensive reviews of your writing.
We offer morning, evening, and weekend hours in addition to regular business hours.
This also allows us to assign you to the most appropriate group relative to your topic.
If you are selected to participate in the workshop, you will be required to: Travel Grants A limited number of New Scholar travel grants are available to students selected to participate in the NSDMW.
Time/Format of Workshop Doctoral students will be selected to participate in a NSDMW session, which will take place one full morning, either on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday during the CIES 2018 Conference.
Each workshop group will have 4-6 students and 1-3 faculty or professional mentors.The Workshop has an emphasis on topics that relate to Africa, but can be applied to a broad range of research issues.This course was developed by JHSPH faculty with the generous support of the Andrew W.We believe that we do our best writing when we write frequently.To build writing momentum, we break down each chapter into smaller sections to make the writing process clearer and more straightforward.
